Saturday Townhall program from 2022 Denver Immersive Gathering

Discover how to take experiential content to the next level at The Next Stage.

Creative and business leaders in the fields of themed entertainment, virtual reality, immersive theater, experiential marketing, and location-based entertainment gather at The Next Stage. Here they forge dynamic new connections that drive the next generation of immersive experiences.

The Next Stage team’s previous events (including Denver Immersive Gathering, above) have featured leaders from Walt Disney Imagineering, Oculus, ILMxLAB, Meow Wolf, Punchdrunk, and more.

  • The Next Stage is the signature live event of the Immersive Experience Institute publishers of No Proscenium – the ultimate insider’s guide to immersive & experiential entertainment.

Following on the heels of the Institute’s partnership in the successful Denver Immersive Gathering, The Next Stage ups the ante with a mix of dynamic Summit talks, salons, workshops, and affinity dinners for which we are known.

Immersive & Experiential are more than just buzzwords – although you’ve probably heard them used as such. They are principles for creating work that moves audiences from engagement to action. Pathways for art and entertainment that scales up from the “merely curious” to those ready to embrace dynamic “storyliving” experiences.

The 2023 Next Stage lineup is set to feature speakers and facilitators whose work has defined projects for Walt Disney Imagineering, Amazon, Punchdrunk, Epic Games, the Peabody Awards, and more.

THE NEXT STAGE VENUE FOR 2023

is the historic Herald Examiner Building in DTLA.

 Arizona State University’s California Center

Designed by famed architect Julia Morgan for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst in 1913, the historic building still bears hidden marks of its history as the home of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, which ceased operations in 1989. Now, in the 21st century it has become home to Arizona State University’s California Center, including the Narrative and Emerging Media program, headed up by virtual reality pioneer Nonny de la Peña, part of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, the presenters of this year’s Next Stage.

  • The Summit & Festival reaches far beyond the ASU California Center and into venues around the entertainment capitol that is Los Angeles County, inviting local and international guests to explore the creativity of a region that sparks so much innovation.

Next Stage 2022 sits adjacent to many inspirational locales: the historic theatres and underground art scene of Downtown Los Angeles, longstanding movie and animation studios of Burbank, beaches of Venice/Santa Monica, stars of Hollywood, new stadium in Inglewood, and theme parks all across the Southland.
